Lack no beneficial thing

OK, yesterday’s post was the most unspiritual thing I’ve ever written, so today I am going to be Suzie spiritual! Just kidding. I’m going to write something that ministers to me, right where I am, right when I’m in the middle of trials and tribulations, right when I’m wondering what the heck is going on and where is God. That’s what I feel like sharing with you today.

Here is a wonderful scripture that always challenges me to pull my head out of wherever it may be residing and plant it firmly into my Bible. Psalm 34:10 says, “The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.” I like it even better in the Amplified Bible: “The young lions lack food and suffer hunger, but they who seek (inquire of and require) the Lord [by right of their need and on the authority of His Word], none of them shall lack any beneficial thing.”

When I first got hold of this scripture, that was the part that got my attention; They who seek the Lord shall lack no beneficial thing. That means that if we seek after God in all areas, not just the area of our need specifically, but all areas, absolutely requiring Him on a daily basis, then we shall not lack any thing. That was a revelation to me. I am praying about a situation in my own life that looks impossible. And I have been praying about it consistently, but this verse opened my eyes to something. We are to seek after and earnestly contend for God in all areas, across the board, and THEN we will see that we lack no beneficial thing.

So many times we pray for God to bless us with something, like more finances or health in our bodies, or a breakthrough in a family situation, we pray for a specific need, and that’s good and that works and God honors that. But I think so many of us have missed a key point. We have a Bible right to stand on that Word that says when we seek God, when we require Him, then we will lack no beneficial thing.

As for me, that’s what I’m doing as I wait to see this situation change. I’m seeking God according to Psalm 34:10, seeking Him in every area, and then I will watch expectantly as He supplies all my needs!
